Dear Parents and Guardians,

Please note that the WWMS phone system is currently experiencing a technical issue that prevents us from making outgoing calls to numbers outside the 775 area code.

What you need to know:

Incoming Calls: You can still call the school main office directly without any issues. 775-664-4406

Emergency Contacts: If we need to reach a family member with an out-of-area number, staff will use secure alternative methods, or the office will have students use personal devices to ensure contact is made.

Next Steps: We are actively working on a fix, and we will update you as soon as we have a solution.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we resolve this issue.

Dear Families,

To ensure the safety of all our students, our school is introducing a new e-bike and e-scooter policy starting immediately. As these devices have become increasingly popular, this policy sets clear expectations for safe use on and around campus - including mandatory helmet use, designated parking areas, and a strict requirement that all devices must be powered off and walked while on school grounds. Students who ride an e-bike or e-scooter to school will need to pick up a campus agreement form in the office; once submitted, they will receive a required permit sticker. We appreciate your partnership in reviewing these guidelines with your child to help keep our students safe. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the middle school office at 775-664-4406.

The Nevada School Climate/Social Emotional Learning Survey (NV-SCSEL) is used to gather student feedback about their experiences at school. The NV-SCSEL surveys are administered to students in grade 5 and up throughout the state of Nevada during the fall of each school year.

The NV-SCSEL surveys measure students’ perceptions of key aspects of school climate, including physical and emotional safety, relationships, and cultural and linguistic competence, as well as students’ social and emotional competencies. The survey is an opportunity for students to anonymously share their experiences of their school’s climate with their school, school district, and NDE.

To learn more about the survey, visit nevadaschoolclimate.org. West Wendover Middle School will be administering the survey to students on December 15th , 2025.

Questions on the survey are optional. Students can choose not to answer any question they do not want to answer. Parents can opt their child(ren) out of participating in the survey by contacting their child(ren)’s school. If you have any questions about the NV-SCSEL survey, please contact your child(ren)’s school.
